Gold, Silver futures drop against rising dollar
AXcess News, New York reports today the dollar rose against other major currencies with gold and silver futures dropping and with silver’s loss outpacing gold nearly 3-to-1.
Silver prices tumbled by more than three times the percentage loss of gold, down 25 cents per ounce, or 1.41%, at $17.54.
But after today’s dismal July payroll report from the US Department of Labor, what may have kept silver and gold prices from falling more sharply was the 0.2% increase in the US unemployment rate that now stands at 5.7%
